Privacy at AIIEU
AIIEU is designed to work without accounts. We store minimal data, and optional analytics runs only if you opt in.
What we store on your device
Essential storage (localStorage) is used for:
- Privacy preference selection (essential + analytics choices).
- Watchlist (topics you save locally).
Votes (Like / Dislike)
When you vote, we process your IP address to prevent duplicate voting and rate-limit abusive bursts. We do not store raw IP addresses in the database; we store a salted hash of the IP (a pseudonymous identifier), plus the item ID, vote direction, and a timestamp.
Vote counts are displayed publicly, but individual voters are not exposed.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
Ads are currently paused while we run a natural traffic experiment. We are not loading AdSense ad units on the homepage during this period.
If ads are re-enabled later, this page and the privacy controls will be updated before rollout.
Analytics (GA4)
Google Analytics (GA4) is disabled by default and loads only if you opt in via the privacy panel. If enabled, GA4 may set cookies and collect usage data (pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser metadata).
